Alabama Woman Hit With Beautiful Karma After Taking Almost Entire Bowl Of Halloween Candy And Lying About It

Taylor Wilson, a homeowner in Alabama, had her and her children’s Halloween ruined after two women came across a bowl of candy she left outside her home for trick-or-treaters.

A video showing them helping themselves to nearly the entire supply went viral over the weekend, drawing plenty of criticism.

Things, however, took a more serious turn when viewers identified one of the women as an employee of Sakana, a Japanese restaurant.

The establishment initially decided against taking action after being told she had apologized to the homeowner, only to later learn the apology was a lie and confirm the consequences she now faces.

One of the women in the viral video was wearing a Sakana Sushi Bar shirt.

The footage was shared alongside the caption, “Greedy adults stole almost the entire bowl of candy. Literally left almost nothing for the children. Absolutely pathetic.”

The uploader ultimately tagged Sakana, asking, “Is this one of your employees?”

The restaurant released a statement addressing the incident, confirming that the woman was one of its off-duty employees and adding that it would investigate the fiasco.

“We take this matter seriously, and we certainly do not condone behavior that takes away from children or the community,” the establishment noted.

The restaurant also thanked social media users for bringing the incident to its attention.

After spending a day reviewing the controversy, Sakana stated on Sunday, November 1, saying that it had spoken to the employee featured in the viral footage and was told that she had apologized to Wilson that morning.

The establishment also claimed that she had returned the candy she had taken.

Wilson, however, disputed this account.

Wilson told AL.com news that she had not received an apology from the Sakana employee, but rather from the other woman featured in the video.

She relayed this information to the restaurant, which then confirmed that its employee had lied about apologizing to the homeowner.

The establishment further explained that discovering her dishonesty led it to decide that she could no longer work there, as being dishonest was “unacceptable.”

“Lying to us after knowing how important everything is and how important we told her this is to us and to the entire community and we basically told her that she can no longer be working with us anymore,” a spokesperson for the restaurant said.

The woman’s Halloween antics, however, were far from the only incident to get employers involved.

In viral footage from November 31, a customer is seen confronting a Burger King server over the black paint on their face, to which the worker responds, “I’m just black for today.”

The customer then asks whether the employee thinks their behaviour is unproblematic, to which she responds, “As long as you have a good heart.”

In the clip, the employee nods when asked if their intentions are “good.”

Asked whether they support the Black Lives Matter movement, she says, “Well no, I just wanted to be black.”

“Do you know the struggles that we go through as Black people?” the customer asks.

“No, yes I do, I mean, no. I don’t. No. I don’t,” the worker responds.

She is now under investigation for the matter without her identity being revealed

Burger King has not yet confirmed which of its over 6,000 branches in America was involved in the incident, nor has it shared the name of the employee.

Social media, though, has identified the outlet as 1501 7th Street NW in Faribault, Minnesota.

A Burger King spokesperson addressed the matter in a conversation with The Independent on Monday, November 2, saying that the company was aware of the video and took the matter “very seriously.”

“The franchisee of this location is addressing the situation with his team, manager, and Team member to ensure everyone involved understands why this is not acceptable and won’t happen again,” they added.
