MARICOPA, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people are dead after a house fire south of the Valley late Saturday morning.

Around 11:30 a.m., firefighters were called to the house fire in the area of Corvalis Lane, near Honeycutt and Porter roads in the city of Maricopa.

When they arrived, crews entered the house and found two residents dead inside, according to the Maricopa Fire and Medical Department. They have not been publicly identified.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigators are working to determine what led up to the blaze.
