Gracie Abrams’ latest appearance has sparked concern among fans, with some claiming the singer looks noticeably different.
Photos of her at the launch party for WYouth magazine in New York City quickly became a talking point online, with some questioning whether she had fallen victim to Hollywood’s increasingly controversial beauty standards.

Gracie Abrams attended the launch dinner for W Magazine’s new younger sister publication on Monday, October 26.
The event took place at Thai Diner in New York City and was hosted by W Editor-in-Chief Sara Moonves, filmmaker Sofia Coppola, and WYouth editor Ava Nirui.
The singer wore a sheer dress from Aaron Esh’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection, styled by Spencer Singer, and accessorized with Chanel jewelry.

But while her outfit drew attention, several commenters expressed concern over her physique.
Many questioned whether the entertainment industry was once again promoting an extremely thin body ideal.
“It’s crazy to me because they were skinny, yes, but pretty now they look like skeletons and now I DO UNDERSTAND what my mother meant when I was a**rexic…” one commenter wrote.

Some commenters connected the discussion about Gracie to the scrutiny other female celebrities have faced over their appearances in recent months, including Ariana Grande, Jenna Ortega, and Kelly Osbourne.

Not everyone, however, agreed that Abrams’ appearance should be treated as evidence of a troubling transformation.
Some commenters pushed back, arguing that a handful of photographs can’t provide a reliable picture of someone’s health.

One commenter also defended Abrams’ fitness, writing, “‘Gracie Abrams is on O**mpic now,’ honey, she WORKS OUT. You don’t get abs like this when you are suffering from a disorder.”
The That’s So True singer has previously spoken about her exercise habits while touring, offering some context for why she spends time in the gym.
In a 2025 video interview with Vogue, Abrams discussed how much time she had been spending exercising during her tour.
“Honestly, on this tour we have been in the gym more than any other tour. I think it keeps your brain clear of the spiders. You know? It just makes me feel less crazy,” she said.

Jenna Ortega has also found herself at the center of similar discussions after an August 2026 interview sparked online concern, with some commenters comparing her to Ariana.

Ortega has not publicly addressed the speculation, but her sister reportedly pushed back against the assumptions, reminding people that they “didn’t know what [Jenna] might be going through” and that she didn’t owe anyone an explanation about her health or body.
The scrutiny also reflects a broader issue Ortega has discussed: the pressure on women in the entertainment industry to maintain a particular image.
