Henry Cavill’s days of being a Superman are behind him. But some people online still expect him to look like a hunky, sculpted, smoldering superhero.
The 43-year-old actor’s appearance was recently discussed online, with netizens comparing his look from five years ago to his look today.
Some snarked at his transformation, but many rushed to say he seemed happier, now that he is a dad and is living a quiet family life.

A viral post this week shared a then-vs-now comparison of Henry Cavill’s “five-year transformation after falling in love, becoming a dad, PC gaming, and smoking meats.”
The post’s caption pointed out that British star had entered a “very different chapter” in life since going Instagram–official with his girlfriend Natalie Viscuso in 2021.
The couple also welcomed a baby girl last year, and Cavill has been settling into his “forever home,” the caption pointed out.

The difference in his look was particularly noticeable to viewers who still remember Cavill as the ripped Superman in Man of Steel.
But loyal fans argued that the chiseled jawline and muscular build were not signs of a happy man. A number of men also believed he was happier now after becoming a father.
“News flash, people age each year,” one commented online.
Another agreed, saying, “It’s called aging. He looks great!”
“Good for him for living his life,” one fan commented online

“God forbid a man finds happiness in life and enjoys his family,” read a third comment, while a fourth said: “And I bet he is happier, good for him.”
He’s “still a beautiful man. Just life happening and that is beautiful,” another wrote.
“And he still looks amazing,” said another. “One picture is during a movie, the other is of real life.”

Cavill, who was replaced by David Corenswet in the new DC Universe, opened up about his daughter for the first time during a British GQ interview last year.
His answer came in response to a question about the “most important time in his life.”
“My daughter being born, and the five of us [partner Natalie, daughter, Cavill and their two dogs] settling into our forever home,” he replied.
The British heartthrob spoke about what his routine looks like when he’s not on a film set

While he seemed to be sinking into the quiet, comforting arms of family life, the actor also admitted that his days were far from “ordinary.”
“Ordinary life? I’m not sure I remember that! Seriously, though, it can be difficult,” he told the outlet.
“Daily routine is not a luxury that I am afforded,” he said.
However, traveling to far-off places and telling stories at his level “makes up for all of it,” he added.

When he’s not busy on a movie set, Cavill said he spends his time playing computer games, “which can be both a disconnect and a wonderful way to dive into storytelling.”
He also said he likes spending time outdoors and “soaking in the wonders of the world.”
“Where I live has a magic to it that is difficult to describe,” he added.
The former superhero spoke about being “a bit old” for one of film history’s most iconic roles

Cavill recently spoke about his age while talking about a possible James Bond role.
He nearly played the iconic British spy after making it to the final audition stage for the 2006 film Casino Royale. But Daniel Craig ultimately bagged the coveted role.
This year, Cavill revisited the subject during a chat with Heat magazine.

“I didn’t turn the role down, it just wasn’t the right time. What actor wouldn’t love to be Bond? But at 42, I’d probably be considered a bit old to start now,” he added.
Nevertheless, the Hollywood heartthrob said he would love stepping into the shoes of a Bond villain.
“If it was the right character, I think that would be fascinating to explore,” he added.
“Age is just a number,” Cavill once said while talking about his ex-girlfriend

Another rare occasion he spoke about age was while talking about his ex-girlfriend Tara King.
Back when Cavill was 32, he spoke about the 13-year age gap between him and his then-college girlfriend.
“People say age is just a number. It’s actually real and true sign of someone’s maturity,” he was quoted telling Elle in 2019. “But in this case, she’s fantastic.”

Cavill and his current girlfriend Viscuso made their red carpet debut at the Enola Holmes 2 premiere in October 2022, months after going Instagram-official.
They have since made several public appearances together and remain private about their family life.
“What I’d give to age like that,” one commented online
