“Just Move Back To Your Parents’ House”: Husband Shamed Online After Making Wife Sign “Repulsive” Contract

The countdown to GTA VI is officially underway, with Rockstar Games’ upcoming action-adventure title set to arrive in less than 20 days.

While most fans are busy discussing what the highly anticipated offering has in store, some men have found a rather unusual way to prepare for its release — getting their wives and girlfriends to sign contracts promising them uninterrupted playtime.

One such agreement recently surfaced online, leaving netizens less than impressed.

“This behavior is repulsive and weird, even as a joke,” one person remarked.

The Grand Theft Auto is a popular video game series set in sprawling fictional cities, where crime and chaos often drive the storylines.

Players can step into the shoes of various characters, take on missions, explore the virtual world, and participate in a range of activities.

An X user shared a photo of the contract her husband made her sign on October 29, jokingly adding, “Maybe I should have consulted an attorney.”

“This seems a bit one-sided,” she exclaimed.

The first point of the agreement read, “From November 19, 2026 – November 29, 2026, I can play Grand Theft Auto as much as I want.”

The following clause prohibited his wife from “walking in front of the TV or monitor” while he was on a mission, warning that failing to comply would invite consequences.

However, the nature of those consequences remained unspecified.

She was also instructed not to question the seriousness of a defeat by making remarks such as “It’s just a game,” “You can do it later,” and “Haven’t you been playing long enough?”

During the 10-day period, meanwhile, the husband will refuse to engage in any form of physical affection, including hugs and kisses.

He further stated that he would not be available for conversations or errands.

Social media was divided over the husband’s contract, with some calling it immature and others defending it as a harmless joke

Women on the Elon Musk-owned micro-blogging platform were quick to criticize the husband.

“It’s so obvious these men do not actually like their wives,” one person commented.

“Just move back to your parents’ house if you wanna be a little kid,” another added.

A third described those who draw up such agreements as “dumb,” pointing out that GTA is a single-player game that can be paused at any moment.

A fourth simply dismissed them as “l*sers.”

The husband, however, also had his share of supporters.

“It’s a joke, and yes, it’s not that deep. What is repulsive is your goofy a*s acting like it’s a legitimate contract or truly representative of how he values the relationship,” one user argued.

“The only people taking offense are unmarried and single,” another claimed.

“Y’all are so miserable over everything, I swear,” lamented a third.

A separate user, meanwhile, joked that women often demand better communication from men but reject it when they get it.

“Well, what’s wrong with it? Men can’t have a stupid week-long boundary that they clearly communicate,” they asked.

GTA VI’s release was pushed back several times over the years

GTA V was released in 2013, leaving fans waiting for more than a decade for the next main installment in the franchise.

GTA VI was initially scheduled to arrive in fall 2025, the release window Rockstar announced alongside its first trailer in December 2023. However, the launch was subsequently delayed twice.

On May 2, 2025, the studio pushed the release date to May 26, 2026, before announcing another postponement on November 6, 2025, moving it to November 19, 2026.

Rockstar’s explanation on both occasions was the same: the team needed additional time to “finish” and “polish” the game.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, whose company is the parent of Rockstar Games, later described the additional development time as necessary to make the offering “spectacular.”

Fans responded with a mixture of resignation and frustration at the time, with one netizen now suggesting that the wait had made the gaming contracts understandable.

“All the contracts men are drafting are justified,” they said.

Gaming content creator JulianTechTM shared photos and videos of his wife signing a printed GTA VI gaming agreement on his Threads account on October 19.

In addition to the aforementioned provisions, his version included a clause requiring his wife to acknowledge that everything happening within the game was fictional, including visits to virtual strip clubs.

The post attracted similar reactions, with netizens voicing their disapproval of the growing trend of getting romantic partners to sign such agreements.

He, however, clarified that the document was “meant to be a lighthearted joke between” the pair.

“Please don’t judge our entire marriage based on one photo,” he urged.

“If a woman did this for a new show on Netflix or a new Taylor Swift album they would crucify her,” a netizen said
