‘Karen’ Couple Calls Police On Restaurant Manager Over Plate Of Ribs They Refuse To Pay For

A couple believed a plate of burnt ribs was worth calling the cops over.

During their visit to a Ruby Tuesday restaurant, the husband and wife seemingly played every trick in the book to wriggle their way out of a $30 bill, including a 911 call.

“Don’t they arrest people for making false 911 calls? I think this should be classified as that,” one commented online.

The bizarre encounter was captured on camera by a bystander who suspected the couple’s behavior had something to do with the race of the Black manager they were dealing with.

In the video, the bystander explained that the couple was calling the police because they apparently didn’t want to pay for their plate of ribs.

She then approached the couple’s booth with her phone pointed directly at them.

“I just want to make sure I got your face on camera. This is the face of entitlement,” the bystander said, firmly keeping her phone on the couple, who made a massive fuss with the restaurant’s staff.

Apparently confused by the accusation, the husband asked, “… of what?”

The husband then explained that he decided to call 911 because he believed the manager would call the police on him for refusing to pay for the meal.

The man declared to the Black manager that he refused to pull out $30 from his pocket

“I think they’ll say the meal should be comped because the ribs are burned,” he said, arguing that the food was not worth pulling $30 out of his pocket.

Trying to stop the situation from escalating, the bystander offered to pay for the couple’s meal so the Black manager would be spared from dealing with an unnecessary police response.

“White people use the police as a threat on Black lives,” read the banner on the now-viral video.

Viewers were baffled by the confrontation, with one saying: “Charge them with ab*se of 911. No crime was committed, and no one was in danger.”

“Always using cops as their personal security. Exhausting!” wrote another.

Another agreed, saying: “The police isn’t meant to be your own personal bodyguard. They’re supposed to be solving actual crimes.”

Certainly, every disputed restaurant bill does not require dialing 911, but the viral incident raised questions about the consequences of involving law enforcement in everyday disagreements.

A 2022 study took an in-depth look into whether race plays a role in police use of force.

Researchers examined 1.6 million emergency dispatches across two U.S. cities and found that Black civilians were 55% more likely than white civilians to experience police use of force when officers responded to a 911 call.

Another viral incident from last year left the internet just as furious when a Cinnabon worker unleashed a racist tirade on a Muslim couple from Somalia.

Farhia Ahmed and her husband had ordered a caramel pecan cinnamon roll from the store during their trip to the mall on December 4.

“When the lady was squeezing the caramel, she hardly put any,” read the message on a GoFundMe page set up by Farhia’s cousin.

Farhia asked the employee, Crystal Wilsey, if the store was running low on caramel, to which the worker responded with an offensive remark.

“‘You could see me squeezing it through that witch-craft bandana you’re wearing on top of your head,’ basically referring to my cousin’s hijab…….” read the cousin’s message.

Following the vile remark, the wife pulled out her phone and began recording Crystal’s unhinged rant.

“I am racist, and you are a ni**er. I am racist, and I’ll say that to the whole entire world!” she brazenly told the couple.

The foul-mouthed rant went viral online, leading to the self-proclaimed racist being fired from the bakery chain.

“I guess that is how White folks ‘dine-n-dash,’” one commented online
