Talks expected on Monday after Sinn Féin leaders join those on streets opposing decision to allow unionist parade for first time since 1998

Tensions between unionist and nationalist leaders in Northern Ireland have escalated as a number of Orange Order members remain at Drumcree church, vowing not to leave until they can proceed with their march down a nationalist road in Portadown.

Members of the loyalist Orange Lodge made a third attempt to proceed down Garvaghy Road at 4am on Monday morning, but a line of police Land Rovers blocked their path.
