Jared Nangle is a cartoonist and illustrator whose work has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and other well-known publications. His work covers all kinds of subjects, often finding humor in everyday situations and the world around us.

But how did Jared get into creating comics in the first place? It actually started with filmmaking. While working on short films, he once created a storyboard that he felt was better than the film itself. He also realized that he enjoyed working independently and at his own pace.

“I used to make short films and made a storyboard once that I realized was better than the film was ever going to be. I also realized I prefer working alone at my desk on my own time,” the artist shared with Bored Panda.

And when it comes to finding inspiration, the artist doesn't necessarily need to look far. In fact, sometimes, all he needs to do is stare at a blank wall or the ceiling and let his mind wander.

“What inspires me is staring at the ceiling or a blank wall. It quiets my mind and leaves space for new ideas to come,” he explained.
